FAQs
Who should apply to be a Community Builder?
Christians who are passionate about social justice and doing the things Jesus called us to do!
People who have the gumption to start something new and help us build a local movement at this important moment in our history.
Leaders with the humility to listen to the voices of a community and go where they are needed.
People who value relationships and community.
How will you select participants?
We’re looking for people who are ready to grow, try new things, and help others do the same. You don’t need to be an expert or have formal training. What matters most is your willingness to show up and learn. Here’s what we’re looking for:
You’re open to learning new skills
You don’t need to know everything now, but you’re willing to grow.
You can make the time
The training and in-person gathering fit into your life and schedule.
You’re not afraid to try
We value people who take action, even if it means learning through mistakes.
You bring care and curiosity
You don’t need theological or organizing experience, just a heart for your community.
What if I can’t commit to these meeting times and symposium dates?
If you can’t fully participate in this cohort, we hope you’ll sign up to participate in a future cohort.
At this time, Christian Democrats of America isn’t starting chapters outside the cohort process.
What does a Christian Democrats chapter do?
CDA exists to give christian democrats and progressives a voice in a world that wants to believe all Christians are Republicans. We aim to defend “the least of these,” to reveal hypocrisy, and to foster change at every level of government.
As a Community Builder, you will have a leadership role in deciding how your local group puts these values into action.
